Vodafone UK not working? Try this
Vodafone UK provides fibre internet and mobile service. Vodafone and Three merged their UK networks in 2025, so a mast fault can now affect customers of both.
Find out whether Vodafone UK knows about an outage at your address
- Open Vodafone UK's official outage page (linked below) and enter your address or sign in.
- Look at the report chart on this page. A sudden jump in the last hour means other Vodafone UK customers are affected too.
- Ask a neighbour on Vodafone UK, or check a second device, to see whether the problem is only yours.
Restart your Vodafone broadband router the right way
- Unplug the power from your Vodafone broadband router. Leave the fibre box on the wall (ONT) plugged in unless its lights are off or red.
- Wait a full 60 seconds so the equipment drops its old connection.
- Plug it back in and give it up to 10 minutes. The internet light should turn solid white, green or blue depending on the model.
- Still nothing? A red or dark light on the fibre box means the line itself is down, and only the provider can fix that.
- Open the My Vodafone app and run its connection test. It can reset the line from the provider's side, which a power cycle cannot.
No signal or no data on Vodafone UK
- Switch airplane mode on for 10 seconds and off again. This forces the phone to register with the network from scratch.
- Restart the phone. If it shows "SOS" or "Emergency calls only", the SIM is not being accepted by the network.
- Calls work but data does not? Open Settings, turn mobile data off and on, and check the APN matches the one in Vodafone UK's help pages.
- Try Wi-Fi calling if you have home internet. It keeps calls and texts working during a mast fault.
- Take the SIM out, wipe it and reseat it, or toggle the eSIM off and on in Settings.
Work out whether it is the internet or just your Wi-Fi
- Connect a laptop to the router with a network cable. If the cable works and Wi-Fi does not, the provider is fine and the router or its position is the problem.
- Test more than one device. One failing device points to that device.
- Turn off any VPN and try again.

Vodafone UK outage questions
Is Vodafone UK down right now?
The status at the top of this page is updated every few minutes from automated checks of Vodafone UK's systems and from visitor reports. Our checks reach Vodafone UK's website and sign-in servers, so a local line or mast fault in one neighbourhood shows up first in the report chart rather than in the checks.
How do I check for a Vodafone UK outage in my area?
Use Vodafone UK's official outage page, which shows faults for your own address or postcode. Then compare with the reports on this page to see whether other customers are affected.
Why is my Vodafone UK internet slow but not down?
Slow speeds with a working connection usually come from Wi-Fi, not the line. Test with a cable first. If the wired speed is also far below your plan, there may be a fault on the line that has not become a full outage yet, so report it.
Does Vodafone UK pay compensation for outages?
Ofcom runs an automatic compensation scheme for broadband and landline. If your provider has signed up and a fault is not fixed two full working days after you report it, you are paid a set daily amount without having to claim. Report the fault to Vodafone UK as early as you can, because the clock starts from your report.
How long do Vodafone UK outages usually last?
Most faults are cleared within a few hours. Damage to cables from storms or construction can take a day or more, because a crew has to repair the line by hand.
