Straight Talk provides mobile service on the Verizon network.

Find out whether Straight Talk knows about an outage at your address

  1. Sign in to the My Straight Talk app on mobile data. Known outages for your address are shown on the first screen.
  2. Look at the report chart on this page. A sudden jump in the last hour means other Straight Talk customers are affected too.
  3. Straight Talk runs on the Verizon network, so also check the Verizon page linked under "Check a related service".

No signal or no data on Straight Talk

  1. Switch airplane mode on for 10 seconds and off again. This forces the phone to register with the network from scratch.
  2. Restart the phone. If it shows "SOS" or "Emergency calls only", the SIM is not being accepted by the network.
  3. Calls work but data does not? Open Settings, turn mobile data off and on, and check the APN matches the one in Straight Talk's help pages.
  4. Straight Talk uses Verizon's masts. If Verizon has an outage in your area, Straight Talk will be down as well and resetting your phone will not help.
  5. Take the SIM out, wipe it and reseat it, or toggle the eSIM off and on in Settings.

Work out whether it is the internet or just your Wi-Fi

  1. Try a different app or website. If only one app fails, that app is down, not your provider.
  2. Test more than one device. One failing device points to that device.
  3. Turn off any VPN and try again.

Is Straight Talk down right now?

Which network does Straight Talk use?

Straight Talk runs on the Verizon network. When Verizon has a fault, Straight Talk customers in the same area lose service as well.

Can I get a refund for a Straight Talk outage?

There is no federal rule that forces US providers to credit outages, but most will if you ask. Contact Straight Talk after service returns, give the start and end time, and ask for a prorated credit for the days you were without service.

How long do Straight Talk outages usually last?

Most faults are cleared within a few hours. Damage to cables from storms or construction can take a day or more, because a crew has to repair the line by hand.
