Metro by T-Mobile not working? Try this
Metro by T-Mobile provides mobile service on the T-Mobile network.
Find out whether Metro by T-Mobile knows about an outage at your address
- Sign in to the MyMetro app on mobile data. Known outages for your address are shown on the first screen.
- Look at the report chart on this page. A sudden jump in the last hour means other Metro by T-Mobile customers are affected too.
- Metro by T-Mobile runs on the T-Mobile network, so also check the T-Mobile page linked under "Check a related service".
No signal or no data on Metro by T-Mobile
- Switch airplane mode on for 10 seconds and off again. This forces the phone to register with the network from scratch.
- Restart the phone. If it shows "SOS" or "Emergency calls only", the SIM is not being accepted by the network.
- Calls work but data does not? Open Settings, turn mobile data off and on, and check the APN matches the one in Metro by T-Mobile's help pages.
- Metro by T-Mobile uses T-Mobile's masts. If T-Mobile has an outage in your area, Metro by T-Mobile will be down as well and resetting your phone will not help.
- Take the SIM out, wipe it and reseat it, or toggle the eSIM off and on in Settings.
Work out whether it is the internet or just your Wi-Fi
- Try a different app or website. If only one app fails, that app is down, not your provider.
- Test more than one device. One failing device points to that device.
- Turn off any VPN and try again.

Metro by T-Mobile outage questions
Is Metro by T-Mobile down right now?
The status at the top of this page is updated every few minutes from automated checks of Metro by T-Mobile's systems and from visitor reports. Our checks reach Metro by T-Mobile's website and sign-in servers, so a local line or mast fault in one neighbourhood shows up first in the report chart rather than in the checks.
How do I check for a Metro by T-Mobile outage in my area?
Use the MyMetro app, which shows faults for your own address or postcode. Then compare with the reports on this page to see whether other customers are affected.
Which network does Metro by T-Mobile use?
Metro by T-Mobile runs on the T-Mobile network. When T-Mobile has a fault, Metro by T-Mobile customers in the same area lose service as well.
Can I get a refund for a Metro by T-Mobile outage?
There is no federal rule that forces US providers to credit outages, but most will if you ask. Contact Metro by T-Mobile after service returns, give the start and end time, and ask for a prorated credit for the days you were without service.
How long do Metro by T-Mobile outages usually last?
Most faults are cleared within a few hours. Damage to cables from storms or construction can take a day or more, because a crew has to repair the line by hand.
