Aussie Broadband not working? Try this
Aussie Broadband provides fibre internet on the nbn network.
Find out whether Aussie Broadband knows about an outage at your address
- Sign in to the MyAussie app on mobile data. Known outages for your address are shown on the first screen.
- Look at the report chart on this page. A sudden jump in the last hour means other Aussie Broadband customers are affected too.
- Aussie Broadband runs on the nbn network, so also check the nbn page linked under "Check a related service".
Restart your Aussie Broadband modem and router the right way
- Unplug the power from your modem and router. Leave the fibre box on the wall (ONT) plugged in unless its lights are off or red.
- Wait a full 60 seconds so the equipment drops its old connection.
- Plug it back in and give it up to 10 minutes. The internet light should turn solid white, green or blue depending on the model.
- Still nothing? A red or dark light on the fibre box means the line itself is down, and only the provider can fix that.
- Open the MyAussie app and run its connection test. It can reset the line from the provider's side, which a power cycle cannot.
Work out whether it is the internet or just your Wi-Fi
- Connect a laptop to the router with a network cable. If the cable works and Wi-Fi does not, the provider is fine and the router or its position is the problem.
- Test more than one device. One failing device points to that device.
- Turn off any VPN and try again.

Aussie Broadband outage questions
Is Aussie Broadband down right now?
The status at the top of this page is updated every few minutes from automated checks of Aussie Broadband's systems and from visitor reports. Our checks reach Aussie Broadband's website and sign-in servers, so a local line or mast fault in one neighbourhood shows up first in the report chart rather than in the checks.
How do I check for a Aussie Broadband outage in my area?
Use the MyAussie app, which shows faults for your own address or postcode. Then compare with the reports on this page to see whether other customers are affected.
Which network does Aussie Broadband use?
Aussie Broadband runs on the nbn network. When nbn has a fault, Aussie Broadband customers in the same area lose service as well.
Am I owed compensation for a Aussie Broadband outage?
Under Australian Consumer Law you can ask for a refund or credit for a service you paid for and did not receive. Raise it with Aussie Broadband first. If it is not resolved, the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO) takes complaints for free.
How long do Aussie Broadband outages usually last?
Most faults are cleared within a few hours. Damage to cables from storms or construction can take a day or more, because a crew has to repair the line by hand.
