Sparklight not working? Try this
Sparklight provides cable internet. Sparklight was called Cable One until 2019.
Find out whether Sparklight knows about an outage at your address
- Sign in to the Sparklight app on mobile data. Known outages for your address are shown on the first screen.
- Look at the report chart on this page. A sudden jump in the last hour means other Sparklight customers are affected too.
- Ask a neighbour on Sparklight, or check a second device, to see whether the problem is only yours.
Restart your Sparklight modem the right way
- Unplug the power from your Sparklight modem. If the modem has a backup battery, take that out as well.
- Wait a full 60 seconds so the equipment drops its old connection.
- Plug it back in and give it up to 10 minutes. On cable, the "online" light should stop blinking and stay solid.
- Still blinking? Check that the coax cable is finger-tight at the wall and at the modem. A loose coax connector is the most common cause of a single-home cable fault.
- Open the Sparklight app and run its connection test. It can reset the line from the provider's side, which a power cycle cannot.
Work out whether it is the internet or just your Wi-Fi
- Connect a laptop to the router with a network cable. If the cable works and Wi-Fi does not, the provider is fine and the router or its position is the problem.
- Test more than one device. One failing device points to that device.
- Turn off any VPN and try again.

Sparklight outage questions
Is Sparklight down right now?
The status at the top of this page is updated every few minutes from automated checks of Sparklight's systems and from visitor reports. Our checks reach Sparklight's website and sign-in servers, so a local line or mast fault in one neighbourhood shows up first in the report chart rather than in the checks.
How do I check for a Sparklight outage in my area?
Use the Sparklight app, which shows faults for your own address or postcode. Then compare with the reports on this page to see whether other customers are affected.
Why is my Sparklight internet slow but not down?
Slow speeds with a working connection usually come from Wi-Fi, not the line. Test with a cable first. If the wired speed is also far below your plan, there may be a fault on the line that has not become a full outage yet, so report it.
Can I get a refund for a Sparklight outage?
There is no federal rule that forces US providers to credit outages, but most will if you ask. Contact Sparklight after service returns, give the start and end time, and ask for a prorated credit for the days you were without service.
How long do Sparklight outages usually last?
Most faults are cleared within a few hours. Damage to cables from storms or construction can take a day or more, because a crew has to repair the line by hand.
