Boost Mobile not working? Try this

Boost Mobile provides mobile service. Boost phones use Boost's own 5G network where it exists and roam on AT&T and T-Mobile elsewhere, so which network you are on depends on your SIM and location.

Find out whether Boost Mobile knows about an outage at your address

  1. Sign in to the Boost Mobile app on mobile data. Known outages for your address are shown on the first screen.
  2. Look at the report chart on this page. A sudden jump in the last hour means other Boost Mobile customers are affected too.
  3. Ask a neighbour on Boost Mobile, or check a second device, to see whether the problem is only yours.

No signal or no data on Boost Mobile

  1. Switch airplane mode on for 10 seconds and off again. This forces the phone to register with the network from scratch.
  2. Restart the phone. If it shows "SOS" or "Emergency calls only", the SIM is not being accepted by the network.
  3. Calls work but data does not? Open Settings, turn mobile data off and on, and check the APN matches the one in Boost Mobile's help pages.
  4. Try Wi-Fi calling if you have home internet. It keeps calls and texts working during a mast fault.
  5. Take the SIM out, wipe it and reseat it, or toggle the eSIM off and on in Settings.

Work out whether it is the internet or just your Wi-Fi

  1. Try a different app or website. If only one app fails, that app is down, not your provider.
  2. Test more than one device. One failing device points to that device.
  3. Turn off any VPN and try again.

Boost Mobile outage questions

Is Boost Mobile down right now?

The status at the top of this page is updated every few minutes from automated checks of Boost Mobile's systems and from visitor reports. Our checks reach Boost Mobile's website and sign-in servers, so a local line or mast fault in one neighbourhood shows up first in the report chart rather than in the checks.

How do I check for a Boost Mobile outage in my area?

Use the Boost Mobile app, which shows faults for your own address or postcode. Then compare with the reports on this page to see whether other customers are affected.

Why is my Boost Mobile internet slow but not down?

Slow data with full signal usually means a busy mast. Try again in a few minutes or move to a different spot. If it is slow everywhere all day, check your plan has not reached its data cap.

Can I get a refund for a Boost Mobile outage?

There is no federal rule that forces US providers to credit outages, but most will if you ask. Contact Boost Mobile after service returns, give the start and end time, and ask for a prorated credit for the days you were without service.

How long do Boost Mobile outages usually last?

Most faults are cleared within a few hours. Damage to cables from storms or construction can take a day or more, because a crew has to repair the line by hand.
